” Thank you sir! Enjoy your day! ” I said while putting the payment in cashier. He’s in mid 30’s i think. I always see him ordering cafe Americano and positioned himself nearly spot on side table. Well. That’s common i think, everyday we encounter customers with different vibes and personality. I sanitized my hand when someone open the door. Oh? It’s raining. Rainy afternoon.
Ting!
“Good afternoon sir. May i take you order? ” I noticed he’s look. Wearing white long sleeves with ripped pants. He was looking at the menu. He’s entirely wet.
“Sir? ” I uttered on him. Okay. I get it. Hindi ito makapili nang oorderin. He’s new. I never seen him before. Transferee i think.
“Uhm..one iced latte and bagel. ” He said while looking at me. I didn’t type what he said. I get my warm milk beside me and place it infront of him. Continuously looking on what i gave. Milk. Honestly I’ve that for myself. But i think the guy right here needs it.
“Here. Warm milk. Drinking Cold drinks is not good for you. ” I smiled at him and get one bagel and placed it on the plater. He get the mug and tried to sip in. I though he was angry at me. Thank god it’s not. After paying, he sit on vacant table.
I notice him only drinking his milk. He did not touch the bread tho. Well, based on his face i think he comes on the rich family.
“Gwapo no? ”
“No way.” I said while looking at him
“No way. ” And then i just realized what I’ve said. I saw khim litterally smirked. She began to poke my hips.
“Aha! I caught you! Sabi na nga ba eh! Ay sabi kona barbie! So you mean-wait! Gui! He’s looking at you oh ! ” I immediately hide myself at the kitchen door. Did i caught looking at him? No way. I signaled khim to come to my place but instead she placed her fingers tip into “oppa”
“Pstt! Khim! ” Look at this girl! What a confidence. Even though the few customers are watching her doing weird things, she doesn’t care.
“What? Oppa! Chun rak khun!!! ” Nagpacute parin ito tila walang naririnig. How about smacking her head using pan? Wait? He’s walking towards here! Okay gui! Let’s pretend. Just relax. Why would i hide? I never done something wrong so there’s nothing to be worried about.
He placed his tray on the counter. What? He eat it? I looked on the table where he sits at and find something he throws. What a food waste.
” Thank you..? ” He said while intently looking at me. I know it’s weird but there something in his eyes that makes my heart melt. Gui! Stop these nonsense.
“Gui…call me gui.”
” I’m Solo. See you around. ” I couldn’t read his expression. Pokerface. He was nearly at the door when i call him.
“Wait solo. Here. It’s still raining. You need it. ” He doesn’t respond to me and get the umbrella. I know the way he act i rude but not saying ” Thank you” or what? Well. Fine! I get offended. But somehow, I understand him. Maybe he’s not like the person who always said ” thank you ” to others.
When i come inside, someone is blocking me. Right. Speaking of.
“Ano yun? Pa no way no way kapa ah! I smell something fishy. So fishy. ” She slightly laughed and go inside the shop. There’s no meaning on that. I’m just concerned. Good citizen i think. Knowing khim. That green minded girl I’ve ever known.
” i would like you meet Ivan Andrew Payawal. Ivan this is Genesis! The famous writer in town! ” why is she exaggerated while introducing me? I can clearly felt nervous plus the air in the room gives me chills. Naka todo ba ang aircon nila dito?
“Nice to meet you genesis. ”
“Me too direk. ”
“Just call me ivan or direk ivan. Since we’ll be workmates. I read your manuscript and it’s great! The only ‘ just a little ‘ problem is the romance. You know. It’s bland. I think you can add more intimate scenes or hot scene… what you do you think? ”
“Ah…yes! I’m currently working on that. Don’t worry. ”
“Do you heard that ivan! This young man is amazing! So..go ahead. ”
“Yeah. As I’ve said awhile ago, Bad ENGINEER will be released the series next year. I just talked the production team to hold audition which is open to aspiring actor who will be playing the role. Gene will be on us on monday. If that’s okay Vanessa. ”
“Yeah. Gene are you okay with that? ”
“Sure ma’am , no worries. ” I hope so. My heart was racing so fast. Excited! Yeah! This is my first series on the record! I really want to say it to gui! Nah. I want to see his shocked face on my news.
7:30 pm. Evening.
“What? Seriously? Congrats friend! Soju? Can i open it? ”
“Sure. But I’m not drinking it. I have casting schedule for tomorrow. So please lower your voice later when im going to sleep. Ok? ” He opens one bottle of soju and fill one glass. I notice him smiling. What going on?
” Good news? Anu nga? Ikaw ah! Are you inlove? ” He nearly spit the soju all over my face when i hardly pinched his nose. Looking by his face, I can’t. So funny.
He smack my hand and go to sink , releasing his…yuck!
He returned to the table while ignoring my eyes. I know. I’m such a tease. Why? It’s payback time what he did yesterday.
“So it’s true. I bet 150! ” I said while laughing.
“Stop nah. Wala okay? Kainin na natin itong binili mong chicken sa Jollibee. Cheers! ” I get one drumsticks and tossed it with him.
On Next day.
” Are you usually wake this early gene? ” Mamu said while looking at me , preparing the skits for audition. As usually her outfit looks different..i mean so much.
“Yep mamu. How many heads will audition for this day? Here. Drink some coffee. ” I said while reaching her coffee.
“Caramel Macchiato? Oh boy. You don’t have to do this..but thanks! It free by the way! ”
“You’re welcome mamu. ” I said while counting the papers and putting in on vacant table. Me, mamu, and direk ivan are also here. There’s a few staffs walking around and do their duties. I’m really excited. The good thing is i dropped by first on Sky Coffee shop to by mamu and the others. Mine was frappucino with 1 shot sugar.
10 am. Time check.

” what’s your name again? ” Direk ivan asked while drinking water. It’s been 20 mins passed and there’s no progress. Wala kaming mapili na perfect for the role. I asked the other staff to take a break since we’ve been early.
” Jorilyn Gloriana sir. 18 , studying business accounting. ”
“Do you read the skit? ”
“Yes. Uhm. Can i hold a second? ”
“Uh..sure. ” the girl suddenly walks towards our direction. And in just a second. She hold my hand! What the fuck!
“Gosh! You’re so handsome in person sir genesis! Can you signed this? Please!here! ” Napaatras ako nang ilapit nito ang suot na t-shirt. I just get the pen and signed her shirt. She is shaking when she held my hand.
“Thank you sir genesis! ”
“Excuse me miss, can you..just start! Where waiting for you patiently. ” Mamu suddenly blurted while her arms crossed.
“Sorry po sir! ”
“What do you say? Sir? Excuse me? Is there a “sir” wearing dress like this? Ah! My ghadd! I’m stressed! Omo! ”
“I’m sorry si…i mean ma’am. I won’t do that again. ”
” No buts, just get out! Next!!!! ” She started to yell at her. She sadly walked at the door when she gaze at me, giving flying kiss! A kiss! ” I want to laughed so hard but i hold it.
Ting!
Someone opens the door.

I was nearly fall at the edge of my chair when i saw this man. His face, broad shoulders, and fine looks. His skin is naturally white. But me..
Okay! Don’t compare.
Going back. His perfectly white teeth shinning on me. Gosh! Why is he so prefect like this! Am i dreaming?
“What’s your name? You may start. ” I said while smiling at him. He’s woring faded shirt with khaki jeans. Simple but. He’s extremely hot for me! If direk and gene will not here, i will definitely passed him! Gosh! He cleared his troat and speaks.
” I’m Hunter Villafuerte , 18 , taking up International Business Management and today, I’m here to cast for the part of Kin. ”
GENE
“Business Management and today, I’m here to cast for the part of Kin. ” I was checking the list when i just stop. I caress my hand and my stomach. Why it is hurt! I tried to remember what i ate but I can’t concentrate! ” I immediately stood up but mamu held my hand.
“Why? Is there any problem? Gene? ”
“I think i need to go to restroom. Excuse me for awhile. ” I tried to calm my self. Relax gene. I said while holding my stomach. Damn gui! Wait till i got home!
I was walking fast when someone grabbed my left arm. Fuck! What is this! I need to go to restroom!
” Where are you going! ” He said while looking intensely at me. What did i do to him? I was going to respond when he speaks again. Crossing the space between us. I can smell his breath. Fuck! Why is it smell so good for me. Did he take mentos or what?
“The mark that i left on you..is a reminder that you’re mine. YOU’RE MINE ALONE!! ” Why is he like this? Fuck! What is he talking about! Weirdo!
” Thank you. ” He whisper to my ear. What? He used me? This man!
” Bravo! Excellent! That’s him! That’s what we’re looking for! You passed! ” Mami said while all staffs giving this man a standing ovation. Okay now i understand. It just an acting.
Pooof!
“Who is that! ” Mamu yelled while covering her nose including us. Did i caught? Fuck! This is embarrassing. The odor covers the whole room with Stinky smell. I need to to this!
“It’s him! Kadiri ka naman kuya! Dito kapa nagpasabog! ” I said while all of their eyes is on us.
“That’s not true. It’s you! My god! I never do that thing for God’s sake! ”
“So you’re telling me that i do that? Huh? ” I literally see him gritted his teeth then eventually change that into a smile. ” This fucking shaped shifter man.
“Stop! Stop it already! Kung sino man ang umutot ma konsensya naman siya. Ang baho na tuloy dito. Everyone. Outside. I pa disinfect natin ang room. You two. Mag uusap tayo. ” Direk ivan said while going outside the room. I followed him and walked aross inside the cubicle to finish this war.
